“Did I remember to turn off the lights today as I left the house? What is that person’s name? I forgot that I was supposed to meet you at 4 today! Why am I having the same conversation over and over again with my mother (or partner, or boss)? What is wrong? I’m really worried!” We live in a world of information overload, rapid-fire changes and profound uncertainty that, as we grow older, includes forgetting, memory loss and yes, dementia. This experiential workshop, will be led by East Side Institute faculty Mary Fridley and Dr. Susan Massad, creators and leaders of “The Joy of Dementia” workshops, along with Minelly Vazquez, community outreach worker with the New York State Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease.  The workshop will playfully and philosophically explore how we can live, grow and develop with these and other changes in our lives and in our world.
