The award-winning Castillo Theatre, established in 1983, opens up the world of cutting-edge political theatre to young people and adults of all backgrounds. Castillo is a leader in creating a place and a way for people from different backgrounds and cultures to come together; Castillo is leading the way in ensuring that artistic freedom, diverse voices, and community-based theatre thrives. Castillo is a program of the All Stars Project, Inc., a national nonprofit leader in the field of Afterschool Development, fostering the interaction of grassroots community development and cultural innovation.
On Monday, May 20, 2019, we hope you will join us for Castillo’s biggest annual celebration: our Castillo Theatre Benefit! We are proud to honor Veronica W. Benzinger, Managing Director – Chief Broking Officer at Aon, and present the Otto René Castillo Awards for Political Theatre to Voza Rivers and Falconworks Theater Company. All are key leaders in helping to grow cutting-edge, multicultural, political, experimental, and community-based theatre.
