In just six months, over 1,000 young people have participated in career readiness workshops through the Dallas Works Program —and 220 students have completed paid summer internships with top organizations across Dallas.
This progress marks a major step forward in the city’s bold reimagining of youth employment, led by Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and supported by a powerful coalition including NAF, Dallas’ Workforce Czar Lynn McBee, city agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and private sector champions.
We are grateful to leading funders who’ve made this impact possible:
JPMorganChase – $175,000
Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT)’s, W.W. Caruth, Jr. Fund – $250,000 (KPMG Corporate Responsibility)
KPMG US Foundation – $112,500
Plus generous support from Bank of America, Comerica Bank Charitable Foundation, Accenture LLP, Ashley & Greg Arnold, Brennan Potts & Accelerate Infrastructure Opportunities, The Addy Foundation, and Ms. Gillian Teichert, among others.
Together, we’ve raised $700,000 in private funding to invest in Dallas’ young people.
Through this model, powered by performance and partnerships, Dallas is setting a national standard for youth and workforce development. Read the full press release here to learn more.
