The 30th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair is the nation’s largest one-day back-to-school event and one of the City of Dallas’ signature community initiatives. Hosted by the Office of the Mayor in partnership with Dallas ISD, the All Stars Project of Dallas, and numerous community organizations, the Fair helps ensure that Dallas students begin the school year equipped with the resources they need to succeed.
This year’s Fair is expected to welcome approximately 15,000 students and family members from across Dallas. Registered families will receive free backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies, while attendees will also have access to health and dental screenings, vision services, immunizations, haircuts, educational resources, social service organizations, and information from hundreds of nonprofit organizations, government agencies, colleges, healthcare providers, and community partners.
The event also features family-friendly entertainment, interactive educational experiences, live performances, mascots, sports teams, giveaways, and activities designed to create an engaging and welcoming environment for children and their families. More than 300 volunteers, dozens of sponsors, and hundreds of exhibitors work together to make the event possible each year.
For three decades, the Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair has served as a cornerstone of the community, helping remove barriers to education while connecting families with valuable year-round resources. The Fair reflects a citywide commitment to supporting students, strengthening families, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
