Event Details

Saturday Development Offerings are weekly workshops where participants experience new ideas, people, and cultures. Saturday, August 22 is a Virtual Tour and Conversation of the Adirondacks.

Join us for a virtual tour of one of the largest forest preserves in the country – an area that the New York state constitution guarantees be preserved as forever wild.  We will cover the development of the Adirondack Park, the high peak region, the lakes, and the Adirondack Great Camps.  We will also explore some of the history of the area, involving the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, Roosevelt’s midnight ride, Solomon Northrup and the abolitionist movement.

This workshop is led by Mark Davidson. Mark visits Adirondacks regularly and has climbed all 46 high peaks. Later this month, he will be making his annual camping trip to islands on Lower Saranac Lake. Mark is a retired lawyer, ASP donor for over 20 years; DSY workshop leader, UX development coach, and current Vice Chairman of the ASP NY Board.
