In 2006, the Flamm family and friends created a $100,000 endowment for All Stars Project of New Jersey (ASP of NJ) in memory of Scott Flamm. This enduring gift has helped transform the lives of countless young people in our community. As ASP of NJ evolves into its next phase, we are proud to introduce The Scott Flamm Fund for the DSY, a scholarship fund dedicated to supporting the Development School for Youth (DSY) program in New Jersey, in honor of Scott’s commitment to youth development and service.

About Scott Flamm

Scott Flamm first got involved with the All Stars Project in 1996. He quickly saw the value in the programs and continued to increase his support and involvement over the years. Scott was a major advocate for All Stars Project, specifically the Development School for Youth (DSY) program.

The Flamm Center opened in 2013 and served tens of thousands of young people and families during its nine years of operation. In 2022, All Stars moved to a new home in Newark’s Gateway Center to support its expanding mission. Today, Scott’s legacy lives on partly through the Scott Flamm Fund for the DSY.

About the Scott Flamm Fund

The Scott Flamm Fund is a first-of-its-kind reserve fund aimed at inspiring generosity for inner-city youth in Newark and Jersey City. The Fund was established not only to honor Scott’s legacy but also to create a lasting impact on the lives of young people through the DSY program.

Since its inception, the Fund has appreciated by 47% and continues to grow. Friends and family of Scott Flamm can continue to contribute to the Fund, increasing its impact on the youth we serve. The income generated by the Fund is used each year to underwrite student participation in the DSY program and support innovations that enhance our youth development efforts, including the integration of new programs and technologies.

Starting in 2025, the Fund will recognize a deserving DSY student, highlighting the values of community service and volunteering, which were central to Scott’s life and work.

The Development School for Youth (DSY)

The Development School for Youth (DSY) is a transformative, after-school program that helps young people from underserved communities develop professional skills and connect with caring mentors. The program focuses on building confidence, public speaking, and networking, giving students the tools they need to succeed in life and in their future careers. Through internships, workshops, and personal coaching, DSY empowers students to realize their full potential and create pathways to success in their personal and professional lives.

Each year, DSY graduates go on to secure internships at top companies, gain valuable workplace experience, and receive ongoing guidance from volunteer mentors. The Scott Flamm Fund directly supports these young people, allowing them to receive the opportunity to build a brighter future.

We are also inspired to expand this initiative by encouraging other families across the country to create scholarship funds, following the example set by the Flamm family.
