ASP of Chicago welcomes Mayor Lori Lightfoot at Resource Fair in conjunction with the MLK Peace Basketball Tournament
Published by Christina DiChiaraOn July 27 the All Stars Project of Chicago once again co-sponsored a Resource Fair in conjunction with the MLK Peace Basketball Tournament hosted by our partners: The Leaders Network, The MAAFA Redemption Project, Chicago Westside Branch Naacp, Chicago Bulls Charities and Rush University Medical Center. This event was an opportunity for the players and their families to learn about programs and services from 20 different community organizations throughout Chicagoland.
We were pleased to also welcome Mayor Lori Lightfoot at the event, along with our partners from Teen H.Y.P.E. who came all the way from Detroit, Michigan! Saturday July 27 also marked the 100-year anniversary of the 1919 Red Summer Race Riots. ASP was proud to be part of a day of positive and active commemoration and community building.
