Our young people listen to songwriter Mike Squillante about the music writing process

The All Stars Project has teamed up with TopRat Productions for a unique partnership that is sure to inspire our young people and entertain All Stars supporters. This October, TopRat will be hosting a series of private presentations of their upcoming off-Broadway musical, Lucifer, by writers Michael Mott and Mike Squillante, starring Tony Award-winner Trent Kowalik (Billy Elliot) and Jackie Burns (If/Then, Wicked). All Stars supporters will have the opportunity to watch a preview of this new musical and to meet the cast in an intimate setting here in New York City. Graduates from All Stars performance programs will also be in attendance to speak about the importance of the performing arts in their lives and how the All Stars has helped them grow and develop. A portion of the money raised from these presentations will go to the All Stars and our youth development programs.

As a partner in our mission, TopRat also paid a visit to the young cast of All Stars’ upcoming play, Antigone. Both the cast of Antigone and the team from Lucifer did improv warm-ups together and listened to a sneak-peak of a song in Lucifer. Our young people also had a chance to speak with the acting and production team and had an in-depth conversation about song writing, theater production, and their own personal stories of “breaking into” the acting world. It was a great opportunity for our young people to speak with actors and theater professionals and to be inspired to continue to reach for new possibilities.

Private showings of Lucifer will be held on October 5, 7, 8, 9, and 12. For more information, or to RSVP for the event, contact Patricio Delgado at pdelgado@allstars.org.
